WHERE'S BILL DAWES?

Here's the back cover of the DVD box
I
realized my mistake in showing the DVD box cover without explaining
why Bill Dawes is not pictured. First of all, the DVD folks have a
marketing plan that, as usual, mystifies me. The difficulty is in
reconciling their need to promote the film to the video store
retailers and my desire to have the cover art reflect what the film
is actually about. My favorite still from the film is the Pig Stand
image you see above. But, that image will apparently put the video
retailers to sleep. So, we needed an action shot and the best one
was the still of Bill Sage aiming his gun. I like it because he at
least looks worried and conflicted and not like the typical macho
movie cop. It also works well with the tag line: "You can't be
everybody's friend;" which causes us to wonder at whom he's
aiming the gun. Billy D. should have at least been included in the
montage beneath it, however. I am pursuing this possibility with
Hart Sharp, so hopefully the final cover art will accurately reflect
the contribution that both Bills have made to the film.
And
by the way, the typo in the synopsis above has been corrected!
