Dear Pete & Liz,
I wish I could have stayed longer in Fiji, but we all had to get back to work.
Except -- the Remhardts! They refused to go! Eldud is going to teach
the locals how to laminate things in plastic he says. Even Eugenie seems happy -- if
barking is any measure -- Dap! Dap! Dap! That's the sound with the nose I whittled.
It looks O.K., though. I think I may have made the tail too straight, however.
Mary R. complains that when it wags she gets poked. She is just covered in
little band-aids. I suppose I could sand it down a bit. A local medicine man
says he knows a way to get Eugenie's hair to grow back. He is mixing up a brew now
but I am very skeptical as he is bald as a bowling ball. He says he likes it that
way, but I am concerned that the Remhardts are paying alot of money for quackery.
Their vet bills on this trip have been rather high, too. Little Nul says that
she has learned alot from the medicine man but I am not convinced. Burma looks as
queasy as ever and guess where she is sitting right now! Ugh. See you in NYC.
Love, Joseph
