Dear Elizabeth & Peter,
Oh my! I am so relieved we are finally on our way to Fiji! This airplane is
much nicer than that Chinese thing. Halfway through the flight the co-pilot came out
and passed little red books around and asked us to renounce the USA. Imagine!
I could just kill Nul. Boy did that hypnotism not work. Burma ralphed
her tomatoes all over my last jacket. The dry cleaner in Islamorada would not even
let me into his store with my jacket. Why don't the Chinese have those little bags
like everyon else? The Remhardts told me they wrote you - did they tell you about
Eugenie? Well it seems that the baggage compartment of the China Airlines plane
depressurized or something. Anyway, the result was that Eugenie got terrible
frostbite. It seems that her nose and tail suffered the most. The vet in
Florida insisted that they both had to come off if she was to survive.
Needless to say, she is a real horror now. I suggested to the R's that they
do the Christian thing, you know what I mean, but Eldud just started weeping and Mary
glared. I then offered to whittle a nose, which idea they seemed to like. Hey
-- what happened?!? Jan has had nothing but grilled cheese sandwiches for 3 straight
days now -- did something awful hapen to Mabel Conner? I am a little concerned.
I cannot account for Jan's movements at all times. It was very cloudy all
