Dear Peter & Eliz.,
Finally, we are out of Texas! I got tired of all those blue bonnets and oil wells. Eugenie
is going to make it, but what kind of life can she have with just one front leg and one
back leg? Mary R. says she will carry her everywhere. Eldud R. is convinced I did it on
purpose and refuses to speak to me. Nul is doing her best to butter him up, though. Boy,
she sure has her hands full between that and helping me convince Jan that her husband is still
bowling! Nul also got the idea to tell her that Mabel Conner is in Europe with her
mother. I think it's working, Jan hasn't ordered anything with cheese in it for four days.
We will keep our fingers crossed. We have all been debating why Oklahoma is called the
"Sooner State." Eldud says its because he would sooner be somewhere else. All
