Dear Peter & Elizabeth,
Finally we made it into Texas! We are in a diner in Lubbock now. Never order chicken salad
in this town. Ugh. I never tasted anything so bad in my life. Burma liked it, though and
ate mine, too. I hope we don't drive through any mountains tonight because I can't afford
to throw away any more clothes! Eugenie is completely cured (except of course for the
missing leg). All day today it's been YAP! YAP! YAP! just like before! Do longhorns eat
dogs? I hope so! Boy, I thought New Mexico was hot! - Joseph
