Dear Pete & Elizabeth,
Back in New Mexico! You won't believe this, but Burma left her prescription pills in the
ladies room at the visitor center in Carrizozo and she didn't realize it until we were all
the way to Beecher Island, CO! Oh boy was Jan mad. She insisted on driving the whole way
and let me tell you that was a hair-raising experience! I hope she doesn't get in too much
trouble for ripping up all the speeding tickets. Burma sure paid for her mistake, too. I
swear she threw up all the way from Tincup to Taos. At least I wasn't sitting next to her this
time. Poor Eldud R. is going to have to throw away his favorite tweed jacket. The
dry-cleaner here wouldn't even let him in the store with it! Plus, I think Eugenie is
better today. He yapped about four times when Jan almost lost control of the car in
Cimmaron. Oh well. He also hopped around a bit today. Boy, it sure is hot here! Howdy to
